The first parachutes were invented in France in the late 18th century. However, the Chinese knew that a device that could use the air to slow down a fall was realized about 4,000 years ago, but nothing practical ever came about it.

I don’t think that I could jump out of a plane in a parachute. There would have to be a very compelling reason ~ LOL!
