Segagaga is a Japanese-only RPG released for the Dreamcast in 2001. Despite having a silly name, it’s pretty interesting for a number of reasons.

Even if you import it, you might as well say “good luck” if you don’t know how to read Japanese. Regardless, the story is set in year 2025, and Sega has 3% of the market and must defeat the evil company known as DOGMA. The latter being a parody of Sony. At least they had an accurate view of their financial future.

So you play as some kid who must save the company and bring it to the top of market. Guessing on how the Dreamcast failed, I’m going to assume that his quest was a joke.

It featured some pretty sweet anime cut-scenes though.

Also an old-school RPG battle system. Plus cameos from your favorite Sega mascots and parodies from the video game industry. If I ever learn enough Japanese (I’ve been studying) to play this I will give this a shot if I can find a copy of it.
