Spindletop hill is located near Beaumont, Texas where in 1901 someone found a large amount of crude oil. It produced about a 100,000 barrels of oil per day for nine days. The grand find created the rise of the Texas oil industry, and the United States of America eventually became the world’s leader in oil production.
