Amy Farrah Fowler was the last major character introduced in the show. Mayim Bialik is actually mentioned as a person seasons before she appears as her character, which I think is hilarious.

Her introduction is mainly to become the romantic counterpart to the asexual Sheldon Cooper. At first she seems to be his twin in personality, but they do make her more human shortly afterwards.

She’s probably the character with the most respected job out of the bunch. She is a neuroscientist just like her actress in real life.

But for many of the scenes, she becomes just one of the girls. But she obviously has to struggle to fit in with Penny and Bernadette.

While she doesn’t try that much in the later seasons, it’s pretty clear that Amy Farrah Fowler has a very huge crush on Penny herself. Honestly her odds were higher for sleeping with Penny than Sheldon.

I’ll give her credit, she tried very very hard to get Sheldon to go to bed with her. I never rooted for any female character to get laid as much as I did for her. I’m almost surprised she didn’t leave him after the 200th attempt.

But she eventually marries Sheldon and obviously they do eventually sleep with each other. Apparently he considers that a birthday gift if I remember right. Poor girl…
