Kimi Ga Yo (His Imperial Majesty’s Reign) is the national anthem of Japan. It was actually created by an unknown author from the Heian period, which ended about a thousand years ago.

    This is very interesting. I’ve never known what the song lyrics translated were. Funny though how they say pebbles grow into boulders. You’d think it would be the other way around. Boulders would turn into pebbles. Ah well…
