That’s crazy as his story got in later games, Albert Wesker is the villain you love to hate in the first game.

At first sigh, he’s the noble protector of the Alpha Team of the STARS police force for Raccoon City. He even saves the life Chris Redfield, in a very ironic retrospect.

It turns out he was just moonlighting for the STARS police force as his main job was working for the Umbrella Corporation and their nonsensical goal of turning a profit by making a whole city full of zombies. I do envy he got two paychecks though.

He obviously survived the events of the first game, but his own creation turns on him at the end of the original game. Would have saved everybody a lot of trouble if he had landed a mortal wound.
