Unlike many other countries, Israel doesn’t really have civil marriages as they’re all tied to religion. A man and woman of the Jewish faith can get married very easily, but non-religious people have to get a civil union. Interfaith marriages are generally banned, especially ones involving a Muslim man and a Jewish woman.
