I have fond memories of watching The Munsters as a kid. But it’s been so many years since I’ve seen the show that I don’t remember a whole lot. I was interested in Rob Zombie’s new movie that came out on Netflix last year.

The movie is somewhat like a prequel to the television show. As you get to see the birth of Herman Munster.

And his future wife Lily trying to find the love of her life but the dating scene for the undead is rather abysmal.

Well, that’s until she meets Herman Munster.

Once the lovebirds meet, they get along harmoniously.

But it’s her father that hates Herman Munster with a passion. He wants her to end up with a nice vampire and he definitely doesn’t want a blockhead Frankenstein as a son-in-law.

To be perfectly honest, Rob Zombie’s The Munsters isn’t the perfect film, even though I did like it it. It’s pretty darn weird and it being in color is rather strange considering the TV show was in completely in black and white. I will say I was really impressed by the portrayal of Lily Munster by Rob Zombie’s wife Sheri Moon Zombie. But I really couldn’t blame anyone for disliking or hating the movie.
I didn’t know this was out. I’ll add it to my Netflix queue.
