While it’s very unlikely that R2-D2 would be just as important to the prequel Star Wars films as he was the classic trilogy, I’m glad George Lucas put him in there anyway.

We also got to see him fight for the first time and he’s far more capable than we realized.

Yes, sure enough he runs into his future BFF C-3PO. I did hear that both of their actors hated each other, so I guess this reunion was kind of awkward.

At the end of the prequels, they end up on a ship and their minds get wiped. But what lottery-like odds did they manage (about 20 years later) to become under the ownership of Luke Skywalker?
