Things I Hate: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937 Film)

I can’t exactly remember if I actually saw the original Snow White’s Disney movie when I was a kid or not. The story has been redone countless times since 1937 and even then it wasn’t exactly original because it’s part of Grimm’s fairy tales. The very first Disney movie is getting kind of close to becoming a hundred years old now and it’s definitely aged since then.

I could imagine this animation was jaw dropping back in 1937 but it’s not exactly the greatest looking film today. Some of the drawing frames on Snow White for example are the opposite of a stunning beautiful princess

And after watching Once Upon a Time, the evil queen is just a sad vanilla character compared to Regina.

I also didn’t realize the Huntsman was part of the original Disney movie for a very long time. His role in the film is very short and it’s mostly at the beginning. It’s weird to think that many decades later that he would be played by Chris Hemsworth.

I say the worst part of the movie ia really just the Seven Dwarfs. Most of the scenes are kind of boring. I felt like I had ADD trying to keep my attention on them.

Now granted the 1937 film is a classic, but it’s just so vanilla and boring.

While the upcoming live action remake has had controversy, any changes to it might actually be good changes.

It’s not my favorite, but for its time, I think they did a pretty good job with it.
