Laena Velaryon was a decent character on House of the Dragon.

We first see her as a little girl, as her mother wanted to groom her to be the next Queen. But King Viserys quickly shuts down that opportunity as she’s just way too young. And I’m glad he did, that’s just too immoral.

So when she grows up, she actually marries his brother Daemon Targaryen and has a little family with him.

Being half-Targaryen, she’s also a dragon rider and rides the largest dragon at the time. One of the original three from Aegon’s Conquest.

But her last pregnancy goes wrong and she’s basically doomed to die a horrible death.

So she commands her dragon Vhagar to burn her. For which the beasts hesitates, but agrees to put its owner out of her misery. This is actually not the way it happens in the book, as her death isn’t much different from Aemma Arryn.
