Hershey’s ice cream would sound like it was made by the same company that makes Hershey candy but it is not, as they are completely separate. But the odd thing about it, it was founded in the same year and the same county by another unrelated man with the last name Hershey.

I would have thought they were the same! I wonder if either ever challenged the other for the rights to the name.
I have heard of lawsuits but legally not much either can do
