Lucerys Velaryon was a character hard not to root for. The illegitimate son of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Harwin Strong, he was the legal heir to House Velaryon.

Had him and his brothers been born with blonde hair, they may have been able to get away with it, but their bastard born status becomes the kingdom’s biggest open secret. He also ends up making his uncle Aemond lose an eye in a childish fight, which further escalated hatred between the two sides of Targaryen family.

When the Dance of Dragons enters its early stage, he is so terrified to find his uncle with Borros Baratheon whom he was trying to make an alliance with at the same time. He tries to escape immediately afterwards.

And after a terrifying dragon battle in the dark clouds, you think he’s safe.

But his uncle’s dragon is too enraged to control and instead of getting a little revenge against him, the dragon kills him and his smaller dragon. Which cements that the Dance of Dragons will only end in buckets of blood.
