Before my son was born, my wife and I enjoyed the original season of The Wheel of Time but I definitely was not a big fan of it especially compared to my wife’s reaction to the original season. But the second season dropped last year and we finally got around to finishing it after taking a big break from it.

I honestly forgot a lot of the original story. But I do remember Rand being the Dragon reborn and he returns. But he chose to hide himself from his friends while taking a new lover.

And Moiraine had her powers taken from her but she still makes it her life’s mission to make sure Rand fulfills his destiny. Regardless if she has magical powers or not.

And Ishmael (who I thought was really the ultimate evil) returns unharmed, which made sense to me originally.

And what happens to Egwene during the season is absolutely torturous. And the rest of the friends really don’t have that interesting stories.

And honestly Rand kind of sucks as a main character. I will admit that I will probably watch the next season but Amazon desperately wanted to make this their version of Game of Thrones but like many Lord of the Rings inspired works, this one has some merit but just doesn’t have the excellent quality.
