ALF was obviously the star of the show, as the 1980s were such a strange time that a puppet could be the biggest face of a television program.

Even weirder is that an alien from an advanced species would eventually be just become the family pet.

I really did love how he just annoyed the crap out of Willie Tanner. Max Wright was a great actor but I don’t think some of that was acting considering how he hated working on the show.

What proves ALF is a great sitcom is they really had to be creative with their writing because ALF could only be in so many different types of situations. It was rare for him to see anybody outside the Tanner family, they had to use excuses like Halloween to get him to be more sociable.

My favorite part of the whole series was when he imagined meeting the cast of Gilligan’s Island and actually did.

His creator might have been one of the hardest people to work with in Hollywood, but ALF is a beloved character in my heart.
