IF came out earlier this year and while it seemed a little promising with Ryan Reynolds, I heard various things. But my wife wanted to watch it when it popped up on Paramount+.

The film focuses on a girl named Bea, whose mother has died and her father seems to be in ill health. So after moving in with her grandmother for a while, she starts to see strange creatures who happen to be Imaginary Friends.

It seems the only other person that can see them (like she can) is Cal who lives in the same community.

And he kind of is the ringleader for the whole home of imaginary friends who have children who have grown up and no longer need them.

I won’t spoil the rest of the story but the first third of the movie kind of drags, and it’s strangely boring and depressing. It’s really when the imaginary friends show up that things get a little bit more interesting.

It’s not a bad movie by any means but Cartoon Network did a television show called Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and it’s actually way better than this Silver Screen production. It’s not a bad watch but in 10 years, I think we’ll almost all forget about it.
Haven’t heard of it, but we don’t have Paramount here so unless it hits Amazon or Netflix in the future, we’ll miss this one.
