Bobby’s mama is definitely one of the most memorable characters in any Adam Sandler movie. I just heard the other day that Kathy Bates almost turned the role down.

Because her husband left her, she bonded hard to Bobby and refused to let him grow up. And her constantly calling everything “the devil” was sad yet hilarious.

But what was even more funny was when her ex-husband showed up to try to leech off of Bobby’s football success.

For which she gives him his Just Desserts.
