No Hard Feelings came out last year and I contemplated about watching it but I just had too much on my plate at the time. My wife was scrolling Netflix and suggested we watched it on a movie night.

Jennifer Lawrence plays a woman named Maddie who is behind on her house taxes, which threatens to make her homeless in this very expensive beach town. She sees an ad that would fix all of her problems but the job is VERY unorthodox.

As this extremely wealthy couple has a son with the severe social anxiety problems. So they believe if Maddie “dates him” and “dates him hard” that he will break out of his shell when it comes time for him to go to Princeton University and be a real man in the Ivy League.

The 18 year old kid, Percy is definitely not a easy case to work with. He’s almost too comically awkward to be realistic. Now to be honest, he does remind me of myself when I was his age but that was ultimately due to my struggles with ARFID.

The movie is a little predictable in terms of how the plot goes, as I knew she would kind of fall for him just because that kind of lonerism goes two ways. You’re either a misogynistic incel or a very sweet individual that any genuine girl would actually love to have as a boyfriend.

But I definitely highly recommend the movie for anybody who enjoys a very edgy comedy. It’s not my all-time favorite (even for a Netflix film) but it’s a remarkably fun watch. And I’ll give Jennifer Lawrence kudos for doing that beach scene instead of having it censored or using some kind of body double. Not many actors or actresses would go that far for a laugh.
