Why not an extreme love for table tennis? Every country has some passion. Table tennis opened up China-US relations in 1971. There had been no diplomatic ties, limited trade, and few contacts between the two countries since the Chinese Revolution in 1949. Nine members of the US Table Tennis Team were the first delegation of Americans to visit China in many years. During President Nixon and Henry Kissinger visited China. We all have our own things that we obsess with. Like USA has a love for football or Europe loves soccer. Table tennis seems to be fitting for China as they tend to have more petite body frames and can probably move quickly from side to side of the table, giving them a competitive edge.
