Amy Sosa could definitely be considered the main character of Superstore. As America Ferrera was obviously cast to being the star to bring viewers in. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of the other actors in anything else before Superstore.

She starts out in the series as the tenured and low-key sassy floor supervisor. I always liked the fact that she wore a different name tag every episode. Which was her character’s way of getting strangers not to say her actual name.

Despite her and Jonah having a lot of romantic chemistry, during Season 1 I was very surprised to see that she was actually married to some weird loser dude named Adam.

I also had no idea she was a mom until like halfway through the first season. And you don’t really get to see a lot of interaction with her and her daughter until she divorces her dad. Then it’s a competition on who loves her the most.

But she eventually lets her ex have “marital privileges” despite not being married anymore and gets her accidentally pregnant. This was a weird storyline, but it did coincide with America Ferrera getting pregnant in real life. Hats off to Jonah for doing what he did.

The biggest disappointment was her becoming store manager. It was a happy for her moment but her tenure as the boss was when the show really started to hit a slide. I think part of the problem was that she didn’t have anybody like her helping her, like she did for Glenn.

Her relationship with Jonah is such a pivotal point of the series, but it’s often that teasing thing for a long time until they couldn’t delay it anymore. Then she left the show as a main character, which prompted their characters to break up.

But she returns near the end of the final series and they managed to patch everything together and get married. I’m also pretty sure they have their own kid after that.

She may not be the greatest character in sitcom history, but definitely my favorite one on Superstore.
