Garrett McNeill was one of my absolute favorite characters on the television series Superstore. I don’t think the show would have done as well as it did without him.

At Cloud 9, I think he was technically in customer service, but he was most famous for doing all the announcements—most of them pretty crude. You could tell he couldn’t care less.

I think my favorite moment was when a corporate team member wanted to do a piece about him due to his disability, and he did everything in his power to ruin their plan. I also find it a little strange that his actor is not disabled in real life, but it’s not entirely surprising.

I also thought it was funny how Jonah always wanted to be his friend, but with Garrett’s attitude and demeanor, he always kept him far away from the “best friend” title.

What I never really expected in the series was his relationship with Dina Fox, the assistant store manager. For one, it should have been a conflict of interest, and two, they just never seemed to go well together. They had this on-again, off-again relationship, which at one point even turned into a FWB situation.

But at the very end of the series, they decide to get back together and make a real, serious attempt at it. I suppose that’s a happy ending, but I just hope this man got to play as many video games as he wanted to.
