Things I Like: Pumpkin And Honey Bunny (Pulp Fiction)

Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer as Pumpkin (Ringo) and Honey Bunny (Yolanda) Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction 1994 movie Tim Roth Amanda Plummer

Technically named Ringo and Yolanda, Pumpkin and Honey Bunny are two characters we first see in Pulp Fiction. I’m pretty sure they’re part of the last scene as well, though it all takes place pretty much at the same time. This was the second time Tim Roth appeared in a Quentin Tarantino movie, though this role was much less notable than his turn as Mr. Orange in Reservoir Dogs.

Pumpkin (Ringo) first appears as a casual diner enthusiast who enjoys filling his lungs with tobacco. Ah, the early ’90s — when that was still acceptable. I’m so glad people can’t do that now in most restaurants.

Honey Bunny (Yolanda) gives off crazy vibes even before their plan starts — a plan to rob the entire diner and all its patrons.

They think it’s a genius scheme, and to be fair, there’s some twisted logic to it. But they have one big blind spot…

That blind spot happens to be a certain patron or patrons at the restaurant with the means to stop them — Jules Winfield and Vincent Vega. The scene where Jules has a mental showdown with Pumpkin should have won Samuel L. Jackson the Oscar for sure.
