Adam Dubanowski, despite being married to the main character Amy, is more of a minor character in the television series Superstore. He’s not a very likable character—and it’s obvious he was written that way. No disrespect to his actor, Ryan Gaul. I just wish he didn’t share my actual first name—LOL.

Apparently, he and Amy were a young couple who got pregnant with their daughter before either of them was really ready, and they got married just for that reason. He’s portrayed as a very incompetent man-child, and it makes sense why Amy doesn’t come off as the best wife—she doesn’t exactly have the greatest husband.

Eventually, they divorce, but they still have some kind of secret rendezvous at night to satisfy their physical urges. Sure enough, she ends up pregnant again, which I didn’t like very much in the story. But America Ferrera got pregnant in real life, which is the reason they wrote it in.

It ended up being really awkward—for both Adam, who had to learn he was going to be a dad again, and for Amy’s new boyfriend, who quickly exited after the revelation.
