Sofie is the best friend, second-in-command, and personal lawyer of Kill Bill: Volume 1’s main antagonist, O-Ren Ishii. It’s made clear that she is not a fighter like her boss or the underlings beneath her.

Although the Bride promises to keep her alive, she brutally slices off one of Sofie’s arms and later stuffs her in a trunk, dumping her at a hospital when it’s all over. Beatrix wanted someone to personally tell Bill what had happened—and what was coming.
