Chewbacca is one of the most notable characters who isn’t part of the main crew in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. To be honest, despite the flaws of the trilogy, I think Chewbacca actually had a much better story this time around.

He spends the time in-between trilogies with his best friend, Han Solo. The two of them somehow lose the Millennium Falcon but are delighted to get it back.

Their teamwork in The Force Awakens was pretty darn funny.

It was sad to see him react to the death of Han Solo. I’m pretty sure he got a blaster shot to the leg on Kylo Ren, which is the reason he wasn’t able to defeat Rey or Finn during a lightsaber battle.

In The Rise of Skywalker, Chewbacca somehow gets captured, and it’s believed that he was on the ship that Rey tried to bring back but accidentally blew up with Force Lightning.

But somehow… Chewbacca survived, LOL. He was part of the Millennium Falcon’s crew, leading the gigantic convoy of ships against Emperor Palpatine’s new armada.
