Adam is one of the main antagonists in NieR: Automata, and I found him to be the more interesting sibling of the two strange android brothers. And no, I’m not just saying that because he happens to share my name.

We first meet him in that eerie desert zone, and later he shows up again when 2B and 9S start to uncover real answers about what created the robots.

Eventually, Adam captures 9S and essentially challenges 2B to come rescue him.

That confrontation leads to what was, in my opinion, the best boss fight in the entire game. Now, I don’t think NieR: Automata is particularly known for amazing boss battles, but this one stood out as a fun and memorable fight.

2B ends up killing Adam in a brutal act of revenge. I half-expected him to come back in some weird, twisted form—but no, he stays dead. His death triggers a downward spiral for his brother, Eve, who falls into grief and rage.
