Our Experience Riding on The New Orleans StreetCar

Tram full of people New Orleans Streetcar LePass Louisiana

Before my wife’s TDAP surgery, we had an entire day to spend after landing in New Orleans. We decided to take the streetcar, part of the Le Pass system in New Orleans, Louisiana. I wanted to ride one at least once, though the experience wasn’t exactly great. It reminded me of how I imagine Japanese commuters must feel on crowded subways.

The ride was hot and a little uncomfortable, but it beat walking, and the fare was fairly inexpensive. The only downside was that you had to carry exact cash, which was inconvenient.

Surprised about the cash! Most places over here are cashless now!

  3. Yup. We’ve been on a lot of the trains in Japan where it was SUPER crowded. We made sure to wear masks.

It looks cramps and hot. Definitely not too enjoyable, especially in the heat of a NOLA summer. But at least you can say you had that experience now!
