I’ve heard of the French Quarter for a long time, and it’s definitely a sight to behold. It feels like a classic French-inspired downtown with plenty of interesting things to see and do. However, Bourbon Street is not for the easily offended. I was glad we visited during the day, it’s an intriguing place to wander, but I can only imagine how wild it must get at night, given how rowdy it is even in broad daylight.

One of my favorite things I saw was a Michael Jackson impersonator named Sobe Jackson. When we caught his act, he was actually dancing to a Weird Al Yankovic song, but he was still a clever and talented street performer.

Café Du Monde was the spot my wife was most eager to visit while we were there. I’d heard of it too, so I was curious. I didn’t enjoy the outdoor ambiance, nor was I fond of how the place felt a bit grimy, not surprising, considering all the people smoking outside. Yuck!

We ordered beignets as a snack, and I have to say…I wasn’t impressed. They’re just odd little doughnuts with a “diabeetus” level of powdered sugar. I’m glad I can say I’ve been, but I don’t think we’ll partake again in the future.
I would try one yum
Looks like fun! 😀

Lucky you. But thanks for the warning about Café du Monde and the beignets.
I wasn’t impressed with them either. So many people rave about that place, but I liked Cafe Beignet much more.
