Bloody Roar 2, known as Bloody Roar 2: Bringer of the New Age in Europe and Japan and as Bloody Roar II: The New Breed in the United States, is a 1998 arcade fighting video game developed by Raizing and published by Hudson Soft. It is the second installment in the Bloody Roar series. A port for the PlayStation home console was released in 1999. It has since been re-released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable through the North American PlayStation Network as of 2021.
The game introduced six new characters: Shina, Busuzima, Stun, Jenny, Uriko, and Shenlong.
Shenlong was originally conceived as a darker, corrupted clone of Long.
Stun the Insect’s design drew influence from horror films, making him one of the most unsettling zoanthrope concepts in the series.
Busuzima the Chameleon is canonically responsible for Stun’s mutation, connecting their stories through the dynamic of a twisted scientist and his experiment.
Shina’s leopard beast form was based on early, unused concepts for a female version of Gado.
Gado’s updated design in Bloody Roar 2 gave him a more militaristic appearance, establishing the foundation for his portrayal in later games.
Alice incorporates a rabbit motif into nearly all of her costumes, subtly emphasizing her role as the emotional core of the original cast.
Jenny the Bat is one of the few characters whose beast form grants her genuine flight, even if only for brief periods.
