During New Year’s, I decided to take my wife out of town for a special excursion. We did not go very far since she was working that day, so we ended up in Clemson, South Carolina. It is a decent drive from us, but not far at all. I booked a stay at the Inn at Patrick Square, which is a very nice little hotel located a bit away from the main college area of Clemson.

The downstairs lobby area is not very large, but it is actually quite magnificent. It genuinely feels like it was built in a different century, even though it was not. The design clearly pays tribute to the founding of Clemson as both a city and a college. I do not care much about college football, but I know plenty of Tiger fans can appreciate the history and atmosphere even more than I.

We booked the king room, which was technically right next to the elevator. I am not sure if that is why the hallway leading to the main part of the room was so narrow.

That being said, the room itself was very nice, even though I did not get a chance to take a good picture before my wife got everything settled. I will say I was a bit disappointed with the television. It only had cable and an option to use your own device, but I could not find a way to plug in an HDMI cable for my streaming stick. It did, however, have a built in YouTube option, which I found strange. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. If we were staying in Clemson again, I would gladly book another room here.
Sometimes those mini escapes are the best.
It looks nice. I hope we can get away a short break soon once I can start to walk properly!

This sounds absolutely lovely. What a great idea. If you ever make it to Maryland Nora Robert’s has a wonderful inn too. Have a grand week.
It looks cute and cozy!
