I had heard of the Pink Mama’s ice cream chain, which I think started in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. I never spend much time in Travelers Rest, so I never got a chance to try their ice cream. However, they ended up buying the ice cream section at an old school pharmacy called Pickwick near the Augusta Road neighborhood of Greenville, South Carolina. My son had a doctor’s appointment that day, and I always treat him to something special afterward for being a good boy.

I was actually really surprised to see that they apparently serve Hershey’s ice cream, which I’m not opposed to because I’m a big fan of the brand. With the store’s branding, I always assumed they made their own ice cream, but unless I’m mistaken, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Mr. Alex wasn’t complaining about his chocolate ice cream, though he did make a big mess.

I had a double scoop of strawberry, and I really liked how this place felt like an old time soda bar. The building is definitely showing its age, however. It’s clearly a popular spot because we went on a Wednesday afternoon and there were plenty of families coming in and out for a sweet treat. It probably helps that they’re right next to a very populated and affluent elementary school.
I love old-style ice cream parlors. Alex has good taste. Chocolate!
Looks like a good place and like those old style places too 😀 My goodness look at how big your boy is! I cannot believe how the time passes so quickly. He’s such a happy boy too 😀
