After visiting the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry, we started walking downtown to our next major destination and stumbled upon Blue Bicycle Books. Even though I’m a writer (check out War of The Wolf: The Complete Trilogy under Adam America), my wife is way more of a reader than I am. Part of that is because I actually cannot read in the house with the kids and all the noise. She can tune it out and finish a book WAY before I can, so she basically begged me to go inside.

For a small downtown bookstore in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina, it impressed me. They had a pretty good selection of books, even though there wasn’t really anything I was particularly looking for. Lily and I actually gravitated toward the same book, which was a funny fact book about animals.

In the very small kids’ section, they also had a little play area for the kiddos. I appreciated it because I never expected them to have such a thing in a venue of that size. My wife ended up buying a few books on her way out, so everybody was happy.
