Cleo Cazo, known by her alias Rat Catcher 2, is one of the major characters in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. The film was technically part of the DCEU before everything went downhill and Gunn later rebooted DC movies as the DCU. She was one of the less memorable members of the Squad, but still a solid character.

She is apparently from Portugal, and her father was the original Rat Catcher. Both share the ability to control rats, which is basically like Aquaman, but with diseased rodents instead of majestic sea creatures. She eventually fell into a life of crime, was caught, and sent to prison, where she was recruited for the mission.

One of her most hilarious moments involves the grim fate she nearly suffered at the hands of King Shark. The team was asleep when King Shark decided to help himself to an unauthorized late night snack. Luckily, Bloodsport and the others managed to stop him in time.

She survives long enough to witness the emergence of the giant alien starfish, Starro. Along with the rest of the team, she chooses to defy Amanda Waller’s orders and intervene, even as Waller threatens to kill them all. That takes more courage than most people would have.

She ultimately uses her powers to summon a massive swarm of rats, flooding the battlefield and overwhelming the creature. It was not the final blow, but without her help, it is very unlikely that Harley Quinn would have been able to land the killing strike.
