Things I Like: Brinstar Depths Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

It is rather strange that Melee got two stages based on Brinstar, which is home to Kraid. Depths is quite a bit different than it’s “normal” countepart. After awhile, something starts to change… And whole stage starts to slowly tilt around. Which can be quite tricky to get back up if you get stuck. ButContinue reading “Things I Like: Brinstar Depths Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Nofair Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

This stage has been around since Brawl. It’s from the Metroid series. Nofair is one of the most volcanic parts of the planet Zebes, so Samus Aran has encountered it from time to time. While it does take a battlefield-like shape, the magma and lava is what you really need to look out for. EspeciallyContinue reading “Things I Like: Nofair Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Frigate Orpheon Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

While never my favorite stage, the Frigate Orpheon stage originated in Brawl and finally returned for Ultimate. It’s another stage based on the Metroid series. It actually comes from Metroid Prime during a very early level where Samus fights the Parasite Queen boss. It’s pretty true to the game it comes from. Though the biggestContinue reading “Things I Like: Frigate Orpheon Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Zero Suit Samus (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

While not new, Zero Suit Samus is back again in Smash Bros. The suit comes from Metroid: Zero Mission, and originally in the Smash Bros. series it was what happened to Samus after she used the Zero Laser. So when Samus has no armor, she loses a lot of her laser power but she’s veryContinue reading “Things I Like: Zero Suit Samus (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Screw Attack (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

It’s been in the series as an item since Melee, and one of my favorites. It’s from the Metroid games, where Samus can equip it and attack enemies while jumping. All you have to do is pick one up and the fighter automatically wears it. Though I always thought it was a little wrong consideringContinue reading “Things I Like: Screw Attack (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”
