VUE-995 is one of your ally characters in the video game Metroid Prime 4: Beyond by Nintendo and Retro Studios. I really liked him as a character, especially because he wasn’t human and had his own unique robotic charm.

I’m pretty sure he was the very last ally you met, and it was in a very dark and gloomy place that didn’t seem to have much hope. I guess it’s a good thing Samus is used to those kinds of environments. Luckily, giant robots don’t have to worry about depression or seeing a psychiatrist.

He escorts you around the area where you find him, and he has one particularly useful ability. He can smash through massive doors that even your strongest missiles and abilities can’t scratch. He can also fight alongside you during certain moments, and I found him to be probably the best wingman you could ask for in the game.

Just like everyone else in the Great Mines area, he eventually tells Samus to move on while he stays behind to fight the Grievers. The Grievers even manage to tear off one of his arms before you leave. I really thought that was the last we’d see of him, but sure enough, he survived and just needed a little repair.

Like the rest of your allies, VUE-995 helps you during the final battle against Sylux. He’s about as much help as everyone else, which honestly isn’t much during that fight, but it was still cool that Nintendo included all of them. What wasn’t so cool was that Sylux, despite being defeated, still manages to remain a threat. VUE-995 stays behind with the rest of your allies so Samus can escape, and I really hope he returns in Metroid Prime 5 instead of being destroyed by Sylux.
Robotic Charm. Love that phrase. Sounds like a fun game:)
