Things I Like: Onett Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

This stage had originated in Melee, and hasn’t missed a single game in the series since. It’s based on Onett, the hometown of Ness in the series Earthbound. While I never really played Earthbound, I hear it’s loosely based on the town. But it’s basically like fighting in a small-town’s downtown area. And apparently nobodyContinue reading “Things I Like: Onett Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Pokemon Stadium Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

I’ve always liked this one since Melee, one of the first stages to dramatically change throughout the battle. And the stage basically transforms into areas that would mimic the types of pokemon like grass, fire, water, and rock. You never quite know what you might get when the stage changes. I’d say the water/windmill variantContinue reading “Things I Like: Pokemon Stadium Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Super Scope (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

The Super Scope has been in the series since Melee, and was based on the actual Super Scope you could hold with your real hands. It was a light gun for the Super Nintendo, and while it didn’t have such luck on SNES, Nintendo has honored its memory ever since. One of your best gunContinue reading “Things I Like: Super Scope (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Young Link (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

When they said all the former fighters were returning, I wasn’t expecting Young Link as Toon Link replaced him in Brawl and it made sense. I considered them the “same” character. But the Hero of Time as a boy returns with his kokiri sword and deku shield. The main difference between him and the otherContinue reading “Things I Like: Young Link (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Gust Bellows (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

The Gust Bellows came out originally for Smash 4, and it’s returned for Ultimate, which I’m glad because I really liked it in Smash 4. It’s based on the item of the same name from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. In the game, it’s mainly used to blow away large amounts of sand inContinue reading “Things I Like: Gust Bellows (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”
