21 Jump Street (2012 Film) Review

21 Jump Street was a movie I heard about in 2012 but I didn’t see it until now. I didn’t realize this movie was based on an old TV series starring Johnny Depp until a little while before I saw the film.

The movie’s two main heroes are Morton Schmidt and Greg Jenko. Both went to the same high school but he was a jock while the other was a nerd. But they both go to police academy together.

After getting jobs as police officers, the rookie cops find a career that wasn’t as exciting as they expected. They try to make a drug bust and it failed miserably. Which lands them in hot water.

So since they look young, they are assigned undercover as students in high school. There is a new narcotic but contained in one school community. Their job is to find the dealer and his supplier but it won’t be easy.

Overall I really enjoyed 21 Jump Street. It may not be my favorite film ever but it’s an absolutely excellent comedy. I’m excited to see 22 Jump Street someday.

Score: A-
