Fun Fact: Mexico’s Excuse for the Mexican-American War

The motivation which started the Mexican-American War was Mexico refusing to let Texas be annexed by the United States. General Santa Anna of Mexico signed a treaty originally with the Republic of Texas, which Mexico later declared null and void since Santa Anna was a political prisoner at the time.
