I really liked Edelgard, as I assumed I would before I even played Fire Emblem: Three Houses. She was the house leader that called out to me the most.

She starts out as the heir-apparent to an Empire and the leader of the Black Eagles house at the academy.

Which is the house I chose to follow.

She’s a great axe fighter, and I would mainly use her and Byleth to take down most of the enemy troops.

I didn’t realize she was the Flame Emperor until I accidentally spoiled it for myself. After knowing, I could hear her voice behind the corruption.

And I obviously took her side when Lady Rhea made me choose.

She eventually crowns herself Emperor and basically wants to take all the lands for herself.

But it was more or less a war against Lady Rhea and the Church of Seiros.

Besides Byleth, she was my most powerful fighter. Though her mobility was a tad weak.

She actually perished during my battle in the final (got her stuck near a giant monster) but that didn’t affect the ending. Her and Byleth destroy Lady Rhea for good.

And I took her hand in marriage, which was neat considering my Byleth was female. Edelgard is one of the few LGBTQ characters in Nintendo history.
