Who knew the father of an angel like Belle would be so unlikable? He’s never really on the side of evil, but he just always irked me.

In the old land he is Sir Maurice, some kind of noble who makes a deal with Rumplestiltskin to prevent the Ogres from destroying everything. He had to give up Belle to do so, for which he refuses, but she makes the sacrifice for her people.

Mr. Gold still blamed him for her “death”, though that was trickery by Regina. So Rumple takes quite a bit of rage and makes him feel it bitterly.

Even after the curse was broken, he never did much outside of being a florist. I did like how his floral company was called Game of Thorns, an obvious pun on Game of Thrones.
