Things I Like: Miriam (Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night)

Miriam Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Nintendo Switch Xbox One PS4

Miriam is the main character, so it’s hard to hate on her. She reminds me a lot of Shanoa from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, which was the last real Metroidvania that Konami had done.

Though Miriam plays more like Soma Cruz from Aria/Dawn of Sorrow. She can use different weapons, but a sword is her best one, in my opinion.

Like Soma Cruz she could also take enemies’ powers and use it to her benefit.

She can’t dive underwater for the longest time, which I found annoying.

But I liked her abilities during the boss battles.

I also enjoyed fighting her clone in one of the later boss battles.

I also liked her alliances, especially with Zangetsu.

While it takes her awhile, she does defeat all the evil in the castle, though most of her friends perish before the goal is done.

I think we’ll see a sequel, so we’ll see what’s next in her adventures.
