While far from my favorite on the show, I did like Ruby. When the first curse is enacted, Red Riding Hood becomes Red, and she’s a waitress at her grandmother’s restaurant Granny’s Diner.

I didn’t really like her Storybrooke incarnation especially at first. They make her kind of tacky and tasteless.

Her magical realm self was more likable for me. The story is pretty standard quo for Red Riding Hood.

She knows of a terrible wolf around and she thinks it’s her boyfriend.

Turns out it was her, and he dies by her hand…fangs. Whoops.

She later learns that the wolf thing was genetic. Her mother was one and her mom was pretty bad.

Her importance dwindles after the second season. She does team up with Mulan and Dorothy Gale.

And falls in love with Dorothy. ABC had let viewers know a LGBT romance was coming at the time, and nobody guessed that one. I don’t think many were that happy about it, mainly because it made little sense and came out of nowhere. After this, you never really see or hear about her anymore.
