I really liked his character especially in the first season. He rolls up into town on a motorcycle. Being the first stranger to Storybrooke since Emma’s arrival.

He goes on a quest to make Emma Swan believe in magic. While he gets on Henry’s good side, he has a hard time getting Emma on board.

We later find out he was the one who caused Neal Cassidy to stay behind and “leave” Emma.

But his true self was Pinocchio. The boy made of wood who turns into a real one with magic.

He is secretly tasked with making sure Emma Swan is protected in the real world. He makes bad choices and leaves Emma before she has the ability to recall anything. He later regrets it as he grows up.

I did think it was really sweet how he bonded back with his father. Especially as his dad (now “Marco”) had no idea who he was.

After a chance to redeem himself, he is turned back into Pinocchio for a fresh start.

And later turned back into August Booth to help everyone understand who the Author was. Then he kind of fades away from importance.
