Gyruss is an early 1980’s game from Konami. Nearly forty years later, and it’s not a very famous video game. But I gave it a try while at the Carolina Arcade Museum in Forest City, North Carolina.

I can see where it was going with its direction. They wanted to try to one-up games like Space Invaders, Galaga, and Defender. You have a spaceship and you shoot at various enemies in the cosmos. Except you move around in a circle rather than left or right. Kind of neat, but it’s aged too badly for me to care too much.
