The Great Dane breed of dog comes from Germany. Germany nobliltiy imported dogs from Great Britain such as the English Mastiff and the Irish wolfhound. Eventually, the Great Danes emerged from such a lineage. The Great Dane was originally known as the German boarhound in English-speaking countries.

  1. A beautiful dog! I thought they originated in Denmark ~ LOL! My periodontist has an English Mastiff, but now that he is bigger, Dr. G. doesn’t bring him into the office. Newman was an adorable puppy. Now Dr. G. complains about having to pick up lots of poop! LOL
