Fun Fact: First King of Ireland

Fun facts about king Henry VIII

Ireland never had a true king (rather smaller ones over different regions) over the whole island nation until the English took over. Even after that, most English monarchs were never called “King of Ireland” but instead were called Lord of Ireland. King Henry VIII was the first English monarch to use the title King of Ireland instead of Lord of Ireland. The nation of Ireland became independent from the United Kingdom in the 20th century.
