I played Golf a long time ago on the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing. I wasn’t expecting much and that’s exactly what I got.

Granted it was probably a better golf game back in the day, but it’s just aged so much. It might be better than some other NES sports games, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the later Mario Golf games.
