Things I Like: Agent Carter (TV Series) Season 2

I started watching Agent Carter not long ago after my wife started a rewatch of it. I had never seen the series until now but I really enjoyed the first season. It didn’t take me long at all to start the second and final season on Disney+.

The show has Peggy still working for the SSR but instead of being primarily in New York, she travels all the way to California for a special mission.

This branch of the SSR is headed by her former colleague Daniel Sousa. I don’t blame him for having the hots for her, but I did feel bad for his nurse fiancee.

Wynn Everett as Whitney Frost Agent Carter season 2 Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney ABC

The main villain of this season is Whitney Frost. I won’t spoil her in detail, but her husband is a corrupt businessman seeking high political office. But it’s her genius level intelligence and meddling with dangerous unknown science that will get her a spot as Peggy Carter’s new nemesis.

As usual, Edwin Jarvis is absolutely delightful.

My wife pointed out that his wife on the show is actually the actress who played Geillis Duncan on Outlander. I see it now but she’s totally different person on this program.

Reggie Austin as Jason Wilkes Agent Carter season 2 Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney ABC

I wasn’t too fond of Jason Wilkes. His minor romance with Peggy was awkward at best and he does something I would consider unforgivable to her later on.

I wouldn’t say that season 2 is better than season 1 or vice versa. They’re actually a good bit different, as the first season relies heavily on mystery and crime solving while the second season feels a bit more like a traditional MCU story with a proper villain. While I don’t consider either two seasons to be even close to the best thing Marvel ever produced, I will say it is a shame that ABC (Disney) canceled it rather abruptly.
