Things I Hate: Shuma-Gorath (Marvel Super Heroes Video Game)

Shuma-Gorath is my second least favorite character in Capcom’s Marvel Super Heroes. I had no idea who he was as a kid but I now correctly guessed he was a villain that usually fights Doctor Strange.

He’s just a bad fit for the villains in the game. Just a weird octopus monster with one eye.

I will admit that his ability to steal energy and heal himself is pretty nifty.

And his special move Chaos Dimension is kind of cool.

Since he is a bad guy, he uses the infinity gems for a dark desire after defeating Thanos.

For which, Shuma-Gorath basically makes himself some kind of god of the universe.

My favourite tidbit about Shuma-Gorath is that the legal rights to actually use him are a nightmare, because he’s technically a Robert E. Howard character, due to being off-handedly mentioned in a short story, so Marvel needs to license the name to use him. It’s why the eyeball monster that is CLEARLY Shuma-Gorath in Multiverse of Madness is not named Shuma-Gorath.
