My wife has convinced me well enough to watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette with her. This is the first full season I had seen of The Bachelorette and I had actually expected Charity Lawson to be the next Bachelorette when she was on the season with Zachary Shallcross.

Charity (like Zach) seemed to have pure intentions going into this whole Bachelor Nation thing. You could definitely tell that she was trying to find a husband, not trying to party and vacation.

Her brother going under a disguise to figure out the bad men from the good guys was a little too cheesy.

Like The Bachelor, there are a lot of potential dates. The guy who stood out for me on night one was Spencer, because he seemed to be a serial killer. I was flabbergasted when Charity actually picked him for night one among other people. During week two, he didn’t seem to be as crazy and he was not picked again. I kind of figured that ABC forced her to pick him the first time so he could bring more drama to the table

But speaking of drama, this season’s “villain” definitely was bad boy Brayden. He had excellent chemistry with Charity and if he had been a good guy, he could easily had been the eventual fiance. I’m not surprised at all when they leaked that he would be part of the upcoming Bachelor in Paradise.

The thing about this season is there wasn’t a lot of drama especially when Brayden left the picture. But as Charity started running out of men, none of them really seemed that right for her.

Xavier being a prime example after making the top three. We all make mistakes and can be redeemed, but Charity was at least not blind to see that he was very likely to cheat on her. And his offer to go to bed with her just to make sure “he knew” was the final nail in his coffin.

Dotun proposes to Charity and she accepts after turning down Joey. I wasn’t the biggest fan of this, he just doesn’t seem right and I kind of feel like her mom had the feeling that he’s eventually going to cheat on Charity. Best case scenario even if he stays faithful, I just don’t see this working out.

But unsurprisingly, Joey is going to be the next Bachelor. I called it about halfway through the season. The funny thing is his chemistry with Charity didn’t seem to be the strongest and I kind of wonder if he was really in it to be the next Bachelor instead of Charity’s future husband. But we’ll find out his true worth when the ladies are competing for him.
